Truth and Reconciliation or Orange shirt day is this coming Saturday Sept 30th.
Burnaby’s Early Childhood Development table wants to recognize the importance of this day and the central place learning and unlearning takes in each of our journey’s toward Truth and Reconciliation. Before reconciliation we must all be aware of the truth surrounding the past, present, and ongoing harms of colonization including those of residential schools. To support this learning we encourage folks to participate in the lunch and learns during Sept 25th – Sept 29th presented by the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation (linked below) as well as learn about Orange Shirt Day – Indian Residential School History from the UBC Dialogue Centre (ubc.ca).
